Reality vs. Unrealitnessism?

The newest thing that we have been playing with is a wacky thingy-a-giga called augmented reality. Basically it allows the viewer to hold a particular symbol in front of the camera and creates a 3d object attached to the symbol, this is done online and in realtime. Now, in case you were wonder’n, it doesn’t create it in real life, so don’t get excited but only through the web cam, so you can move it around and it will follow it as you move! What makes it even more exciting is you can add animations to these objects making the unreal experience….real :O With a sudden interest into this technology we decided that our next Christmas card will involve this augmented reality.

After thinking some thoughts, an idea had sprung. We would keep it simple, we would use our company mascot, Appleman as the featured character. The idea being, once the symbol is found through the web cam, the symbol on the card opens up, like a door and Appleman jumps out and starts dancing in front of the viewer, while a Christmas songs is played.

But after some time, we decided that this was not enough. We wanted more!… and I wanted freedom! So Trent suggested it would be more interesting with possible interaction between the viewer and Appleman. Sparks few, drinks were drunken, and BAM! we got a idea and devised a plan of giving the viewer into a questionnaire. Of course being AWF we needed to add a twist. Basically the questions are about Christmas, you first decide whether your a friend or client, then answer the questions that comes up, both have different types of questions. And the twist is, regardless what answers you decide, the only way to win is by buying AWF gifts…

But the twist doesn’t end there, Lil Adam has gracefully created an intergalactic intelligence super duper computer intelligence character system (I extended the name to sound smart… but not by much hehe) that talks you at the start and end of the questionnaire. He has a personality, and he will comment on the end results of your answered questions, so be warned, his not afraid to speak his mind.

Also we changed the song that plays when you win the game, instead of a traditional Christmas song, we replaced it with our best friend, SCOOTER!!
