Diving Deeper in the Depths of the Sketchbook

It’s been over a year now since my last blog about my idea’s sketchbook and what has changed since then you ask? Not much haha actually I’ve already gone through three sketchbook’s and starting a fourth one very soon. So why are these sketchbooks so important? Well, sketchbooks are the heart of my idea’s, simply because I need to draw my ideas in order to see it, to visualise it. Just to let your know, my sketchbooks aren’t magical fairy tales full of happiness and love. There’s no magic here, just complete chaos and weirdness. So anyway here are a few new things that you can find in my ideas sketchbooks:

Here’s a few character designs for Eight Trials, a short film that almost saw the light of day but was held back for reasons unknown. Like most animation based studio’s you’ll find a lot of projects that only go far till it gets destroyed!

There are drawings where I go completely mad and create these over the top masterpieces, full of pointless detail to every object that in some way looks like nothing more but scribbles….in this case I think the pen I was using had some influence.

The one thing I’ve always wanted to draw good at were characters that look totally bad ass, almost resembling those found in marvel comics. Characters that look like it’s been done by a pro. Throughout my sketchbooks I draw these muscle bound characters that look kinda bad ass, all in these epic looking poses. Maybe not as similar like those marvel comic heroes but they look like they want to be haha

Look what happens when it’s just drawings apon drawings, no real scene, no sense of anything, just drawings. I think this happens when I get stuck on one page and for some reason don’t start on a new one…I just keep drawing over and over :S

Like I mentioned in my previous sketchbook blog, I have a habit of drawing what I think of in words, or even what I’m about to say. Well nothing has changed in since then, check this one page I found that is filled of words that mean absolutely nothing……..maybe

Finally there are pages where I find drawings that shock me and think ‘WTF.’ Most of these I have no idea what the hell I was thinking about when I drew it, it just happens…like rain in Tasmania….it just happens

So there ya go, more sketches to get your little minds wrapped around and question its meaning. But if your wondering, no, I’m not crazy and I don’t have any history of being insane!! But I am always and always will be, an amazingly weird ninja….wannabe!
