Widgets
Looks like it’s time for an update. I have worked on a number of projects recently, some top-secret, others too dull to talk about. One kind of interesting project involves making and animating a whole lot of Zodiac widgets. Here is a tiny sample of one of them:

What is a widget and what is its purpose? It’s hard to say. In this case they will be a bunch of little animated collectible characters that will appear on websites. They might sound like some kind of popup spam, but I’m assured they’re not. Rather they are to encourage you to revisit a particular website to collect more widgets.
The AWF website will be a test run for them and they should be up in the coming months. The widgets will come under themes, for the first bunch we chose the signs of the Greek zodiac.
First we modeled the characters starting with a CATrig, we then just added detail to make them look like little cartoon characters. The next part in the process was to create looping animations for them, so they can play continuously. Each widget got three animations, a pickup animation, a sleeping animation and a generic standing (which was the longest animation).
Below are two stills from the Zodiac Widgets.
