Working on the new short ‘Daughter of God’
Alright, so this week we’re in development for a new animation called ‘Daughter of God’ (working title). Which has an awesome storyline, amazing action, and magical looks. It’s all at the very early stages, so there’s no storyboards or scripts yet. Just the concept. And if you’re curious, it’s set in the future of the samurai/ninja era…..yes I’m excited
Adam and I designed a few basic rigs that would represent the characters, found in the movie. We starting experimenting with the main character, who happens to be like an armored tank, he’s big and strong but not very mobile.
He looks like samurai but replace all the armor with massive metal plates of awesomeness. And if you’re wondering what the ninja’s look like, they’re… unfortunately that information I cannot give out or I’ll lose my eyelids, but let’s just say you’ll love them once you see them jumping, flipping and killing on the screen.
So back to the armored dude, the most important thing here is to make his movements reflect his looks, like we can’t have him do ninja flips or ninja cartwheels, it would look very dodgy… actually humorous.
So most of his attack movements will resemble stuff from wrestling or street fights, like real hardcore type stuff, just think any movie ‘The Rock’ is in to get an idea (If you don’t know who he is…you fail at life). I happen to be a huge fan of him and one day we will fight each other in cage match, underwater
In the end we’re not looking for realistic movements here, just believe ones. ![]()
