Arcade Trap - Some Crazy Footage!

Hey my name is Aldrich (also known as Ninja due to my amazing ability to do cartwheels without moving) and I do animations for Adam Walker Film. Today we just finished up filming the Studio Tour for the Arcade Trap DVD, mind you we had no scripts or storyboards to guide us on filming, apart from the idea to make it very wacky and silly.

So we pretty much ‘went with the flow’, improvised on the spot - hoping to be funny. Me personally, I tend to be funnier when I don’t plan ahead…too bad I’m the only one that finds it funny haha. Anyway the tricky part for me, once I had gone through all the footage, was to put it all together and make it as entertaining as possible.

We divided the footage into sequences; intro, interviews, balcony, etc. Then analyzed each sequence, working out what works and what doesn’t, and deciding what types of random elements to make it a bit wacky. Probably the trickiest part was making the interviews funny, the material I had available wasn’t as entertaining as we hoped for. So me and Adam made some changes that made it less of an interview and more like an introduction, of course when you see the footage it’s not really what we’re like in the office, although I’d love to be a ninja….someday.

One thing we kept note of is to not make it too long, we didn’t want to make it drag on and on, it needed to be quick, random and very entertaining, so much happens within the duration that you probably want to watch it again to understand the storyline haha
